Division 8.1 Academic Employees and Assistants

Are you academic employee or a student or academic assistant in a university institution and have questions about your employment or contract? Have you successfully completed the application procress and would now like to be officially hired? The Division of Human Resources for Academic Staff is what you are looking for. We will advise you on any questions related to human resources from the time you are hired to the end of your employment.

 

Our Responsibility

We look after all academic employees of RWTH Aachen from the time they are hired to the end of their employment.

We advise you on all human resources matters during your employment at RWTH Aachen and inform you about what you need to know.

Furthermore, we hire you as a student or academic assistant and conclude adjunct lecturer contracts and look after adjunct lecturers. Individuals are selected by the University institution or the faculty.

 

Hiring Process for Employees

After completing your studies (Master's or comparable degree), you successfully applied for a position as an academic employee and now you would like to be quickly hired. You should get in contact with the case worker responsible for you. In order for us to quickly finish your hiring process, please submit all necessary documents. Our checklist can give you an overview of what you need.

 

Hiring Process for Student and Academic Assistants

The University institution hiring you will prepare an important part of the primarily automated process, if you are being hired as a student or academic assistant. Please make sure that the hiring documents are filled out completely and sent with the employment application. Our checklist for student assistants (de) summarizes which documents are needed for a complete employment application. You can calculate your vacation entitlement as a student or academic assistant quickly and easily with our HiWi-Komfort-Rechner (de). This will also tell you what your gross and net pay is.

 

Service Hours

You can reach us Monday to Friday between 8 and 11:30am in person and without registering beforehand. If you would like an appointment at another time, please call us.

Hiring can only take place if an appointment has been arranged beforehand. Please contact your case worker. Our division meeting is Wednesday, 8 to 9:30am. We are not available during this time.
